Middlesex Habitat for Humanity

Thank you for your willingness to volunteer and help a family live in safe, affordable, and decent housing.

Here are your volunteer options:

ReStore
Volunteers perform any of the following:
• Assist customers
• Load, unload, and move furniture, appliances, lighting, etc.
• Clean and polish furniture appliances, lighting, etc.
• Stock shelves
• Cashier
The store is located at 34 Shunpike Rd, Cromwell. The hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 10am-4pm. You can volunteer whatever hours are convenient for you. DUE TO COVID-19, WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING VOLUNTEERS AT THIS TIME. Check our website for updates.

Home Build
Volunteers perform any of the following:
• House framing, including sheathing and rigid insulation
• Installation of windows and exterior doors
• Siding
• Interior trim, doors, floors, cabinets
• Paint
• Installation of limited landscaping and lawn seeding
• Construction of exterior shed

We are currently constructing a home at 382 Hammock Rd N in Westbrook and 171 Hubbard St in Middlefield. For Westbrook, the hours are Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 8:30am to 3:30pm. For Middlefield, the hours are Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. The minimum age is 16 years old. A chaperone must accompany those are 16 and 17 years old. The ratio is one chaperone for 3 people.

Committees - Meets once a month
Board of Directors - Sets long range goals for the organization and ensures that we are working towards these goals. Members also serve on other committees. Meets the 3rd Tuesday at 6:00pm.
Building – Responsible for all phases related to planning and implementing the construction or rehabilitation of homes. Meets the 1st Thursday at 6:00pm.
Home Owner's Support - Serve as family advocates while also selecting the partner families for each home. Meeting time to be determined.
Special Events - Responsible for coordinating special events and other fund raising activities within Middlesex County. Meets the 2nd Monday at 5:30pm.
Resource Development - Identify and create plans to raise sufficient money to fund the needs of the organization. Works to align the organization with property development opportunities. Meeting time to be determined.
